Norcal4x4 will be holding a run on August 14th or 21st. Place, time and exact date is still being decided but details are soon to come if anyone is interested feel free to reply and let us know.

This will more then likely be a mild to moderate trail considering we have some fairly stock to modified rigs, everyone will meet at a certain time and place then we'll all head up as a group to the trail. Anyone who has CB we will be on Channel 4 at the day of the run. Thanks and hope to see you on the trail

yeah, i definitely want to get back up there. if gas wasn't so damn expensive in CA, i'd come up just to do some wheelin'. I think if i lived up there and wheeled all the time, i would put a t-case in my motorhome for the gear reduction. those mountains really put a hurtin' on it. the brakes are gone, there's now an exhaust leak that makes it sound like a tractor, and one of the tires is starting to crack on the sidewall. i'm hoping to do fordyce and the rubicon some day. if people will quit pooping all over it, it may still be open by the time i make it back that way

Yea those moutain's can be a pain in the @$$ that's for sure. Hopefully next time you come down we can run Fordyce. I believe we're going to do Fordyce or Strawberry Trail on the 21st. You live in AZ dont you? maybe we could come down your way sometime and you could show us some trails

yeah, phoenix. it woud be cool if you guys made a road trip down. there are lots of trails. i'd put some links up but my 'puter is barely running. i think my modem is getting ready to poop the bed. the thing is running slower than dial up. every page takes forever to load.

Are you on cable? i've got a Motorola SB5100, works great.

What kind of terrain is there down in Pheonix? i mainly like playing on rock

yeah, cable. i've pretty much had cable since it was available to me. i started with a promotional deal that costed the same as dial up. i was gonna switch back when the promotion ended. the sales guy told me i wouldn't. he was right. if dial up was my only option, i think i would not have internet access at all. i'd go back to watching tv or something.

the trails here: ALL ROCKS, ALL THE TIME. i've only lived here a year and 1/2 so i haven't done a lot of 'wheeling ( i do more virtual 'wheeling than anything). i'm from sw washington so my 13 or so years of 'wheeling experience has been mud, snow, hill climbs, and mountain trails. i'm a master of dealing with ruts made by fullsize trucks with 40" tires in a jeep with 33's. rock crawling is all new to me. i've gone a couple times and it's a rush. i need lower gears in my t-case and fuel injection to really 'crawl (i kind of have to baja the way i'm set up right now), but my suspension is pretty good for the terrain. maybe i'll post some trail links on the nor-cal forum and maybe we can get a discussion about it going on over there. i check the forum pretty much everyday but i don't post much because most stuff is club specific.

Sounds good, you should check out the Atlas 2 t-cases.. extremely low gearing.

As for Norcal's next run, i'm not positive but i believe it's going to be Fordyce on August 21st. Anyone who is interested e-mail me at the above address and we'll plan a meeting spot suitable for everyone's location.
