For the record. My wife is an Account Executive for Sysco Food Services of VA. And can get anything you want for 1 penny over cost. It would be a chore for me to bring some really large boxes of something that needs to be kept at a cool temperature. But not impossible. Let me know what you all think. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . You've just witnessed a very rare event... I'm totally speechless! Ummm... When you say 'anything', does that include fresh (frozen?) meat? ...And if so, does that include Rib Eyes? ...And if so, how much would 30 to 35 of them (each about 3/4 to 1-inch thick) cost??? BUT WAIT! Before we get ahead of ourselves... Let's not forget about the GRILL(s) - After all, we'll need something to cook them on. [* Takes a deep breath *] This could get interesting! Cheers! Smiley
Six Isuzus, so far... still have three of them.

I may be speaking out of turn as far as CK's wife COULD bring, BUT, I do know the SYSCO supplies the Navy's ships with food, usually one rig, full of everyhting.... dont know if that helps or not...
HIJACK
BTW, as I write this, I am sitting in Tad's kitchen.. Got in late, and took 2 hours to get my baggage(no power due to a storm)... got here at 5:30
Went out had a bite to eat, adn stopped at target for a minute..next thing we know its 10 or so.. and I was looking at a 10-12 hour drive to Mass..after almost 2 days traveling.. so tad suggested i stay here, instead of a hotel..(what a guy, saved me about 120 bucks)
Anyway, I am EXTREMELY HAPPY, to say the least with my newest aquisition...
We'll see how it does on the trip north...
End Hijack
Later, Chase

NOTICE:IF we can come up with enough grill space to cook 30 to 50 steaks, all at once, and if at least 25 people can say that they are absolutely willing to contribute $10-per-person for dinner that night, then it definitely IS possible for us to have Rib Eye Steaks on Friday or Saturday night! Item 1: The Grill(s)Two 55-gallon Drum Grills would probably do the trick. I think you should try your hand at some Lamb. You need to try some other culinary work pieces.

If we can get a few grills the money will not be a problem. I'd say plenty of people will chip in for some good steak.

Been there - Done that... THREE TIMES! Lamb Steaks: July of`02, and April & July of`03 If you're suggesting "And now for something completely different", we'll have to try a bit harder than Lamb... I believe I might have a line on some Duck and/or Rabbit Cheers! Smiley

I was hoping that I would be able to try one of those killer steaks that I had heard about. You can definitely count me and my wife in on that one!
