I was wondering the same thing. My wife surprised me and told me she changed her schedule so she could come. I was hoping she and I could make it up there in time on Friday night to be able to sample some fine cuisine. I guess she wants to see just how nuts we are. She even wants to drive!
Not to much longer to go!

Are we there yet?

And as far as bigger tires.....that would be nice if I had the moola to do it. These duelers will wear out someday and I will have to get new tires. In due time grasshoppa

I wish. It came with the 225/75/15 tire package too. Oh well. I am going to see if I can maybe lift it a few inches before the trip. I picked up a set of assembled factory struts; it makes it easier to measure and play with when you have an extra set. My dad and I are going to make some spacers for the front and I am going to see about fabbing up some shackles. Two inches is better than stock even with 30's. It's nice to have a backyard fab shop at dad's.
I just need to find the time.( We are starting to remodel our kitchen )

P.S. Bansil- I sure was hoping that you would make it. I enjoyed our conversations last time.

Roll Me Over
I know I wasn't there in July but Smiley did say with as long as it took to go into town and then even thought the meal was great he did say it was a bit spendy.

I think he was thinking about doing a group meal instead. I may be speaking out of school here but I'm sure Smiley will speak up soon enough.

Scratch one item off of my to do list, I replaced the o-rings in my Aisin dials and they turn much nicer.

Now to fix my shifter issues, weld in the rock bars, maybe put a rear bumper on.

A gun in the hand is better than a cop on the phone.

I said WHAT?

While Joe didnÆt quote me exactlyà I did say something about how much time it took to mass migrate the whole Isuzu Tribe into town and back. û Of course, if you take into account the fact that our camp-cooked meals are often far more time consuming, to say nothing of the whirlwind messes that they createà Well, that round trip into Troy doesnÆt seem to be as much of an issue.

As far as the COST goesà It was the total that I said was a bit on the high side. û I thought that the individual per-person expense was quite reasonable, particularly when you weigh it against the huge portions of food that we were served.

As far as IÆm concerned, these Isuzu Gatherings are 100% Democratic, so IÆll leave it to the group to decide where theyÆd prefer to eat on Saturday night. --- IÆll abide by the decision, either way.

As for Thursday & Fridayà

With DougH staying at home to hit the books, that leaves a mighty big gaping hole in the Iron Chef staff this time around. --- If any of you have been waiting to make your culinary mark in the annals of Isuzu History, nowÆs your chance!

Well, with all of my sarcastic Scrapple comments aside, I have to give Doug the credit that he so richly deserves for introducing me to Beer-Can-Chicken. û Until he prepared a couple of them (oh-so-long-ago), IÆd never had the pleasure. û They are delicious, thereÆs no doubt about it!

The only reason that we didnÆt have them last time was due to the local lack of Fryer Hensà It takes a mighty big chicken to fit a 12-ounce can inside.

Maybe weÆll have better luck at the grocery store this time.

As for doing steaksà

It takes a mighty big GRILL. --- Last time around there were a couple of people talking about bringing 55-Gallon Drum Grillsà For the size of our group, I would need at least two of them.

And then thereÆs the more recent spike in Beef Prices to consider. --- The last time that we did steaks, I was able to get them for almost ONE-THIRD what they would cost at todayÆs prices.

IÆm not saying that it canÆt be doneà But IÆd venture a guess that it wouldnÆt be possible at our usual nightly collection rate. --- IÆm still open to the idea, but feel itÆs only fair that I forewarn everyone of the additional expenses that would be involved.

Keep`em cominÆ

For the record. My wife is an Account Executive for Sysco Food Services of VA. And can get anything you want for 1 penny over cost. It would be a chore for me to bring some really large boxes of something that needs to be kept at a cool temperature. But not impossible. Let me know what you all think.
