Thanks for the complements Mark! Although, I still feel like a noob when driving sometimes.

On the other note, the taco got a little taller. Just a little. I picked up a set of used coil/strut assemblies from the junkyard a while back for $25(the only 4x4 taco in town! ). They came from a v6 and I have the 4 banger. I figured I would use them to make spacers to lift my truck. After doing some reading I figured, what the hey, I'll slap these things on just to see what happens.
What do you know? I got a little over 3/4 of an inch higher. Not much height wise but the handling and ride is better and the truck sits level. I don't bottom out on bumps anymore. Not bad for just a little over and hours worth of work. One of you guys told me that wheeling was a battle of inches.
Sorry for the ramble......Back to your normally scheduled Uwharrie talk.

We try very hard to keep our groups as small as possible(8 to 10 vehicles).

So thats like 4 or 5 whole trucks, right?

It's much easier to manuver around each other when the groups are smaller.

If a Zu gets in the way, you can always just pick up those cute lil Jeeps and get through. or just put it in your pocket J/k tho, I've seen much bigger Zu rigs in my trips to Uwharrie and they can go just about anywhere you steer them. Happy trail riding guys. Hopefully i'll see yall there.

later,
Angelo

Well, as long as weÆre on the subject of Suzuki Mathà

Jbird reported that they would be assigning three CB frequencies to each trail groupà
So, with roughly 100 in attendance, and 3 frequencies designated for each 10 vehicle group (minus Channel 9 of course!), just to insure that there are no problems, it looks like we will be using Channels 36 û 40.

Personally, IÆll have mine on Channel 37 - Not that IÆm superstitious or anything, butà
--- IÆm 37-years-old
--- IÆm camping at site 37
--- And hey, itÆs a prime number!

Note to self:
Before leaving town, remember to by a Pick-3 Lotto ticket with the number 037

The Latest News:

Last night I spoke with Charles (ckimbrough18), Janet (uwharriehost), and Doug (Bansil)à and hereÆs the condensed version:

--- We are all set on the steaks for Friday night! û We will have 2 full Rib Eye Loins, cut and ready for grilling.

--- Our campsites are already marked as æreservedÆ for this weekend, and everything appears to be ready for our arrival(s).

--- Apparently the recent hurricane-induced rainy season has radically transformed the trail system; particularly the Daniel trail. û According to Janet, itÆs about as rough on the cork-screw turns as sheÆs ever seen it. --- If her run up there last weekend offers a clue, then any appreciable amount of rain at all will likely require some winching to make it to the top, no matter how aggressively your cleats are cut. (We shall see)

--- Doug and Lisa (and maybe Robby) will be our first group on the scene (beating many of us there by a full day or more), so with any luck, they will have a detailed (Isuzu-Specific) Trail Condition Report ready and waiting for those of us who are arriving on Thursday.

ARE WE THERE YET?

just an update on the weather fellas.

Perfect weather almost all around. They aren't calling for any kind of rain for 8 days around here.

Well my latest news is the Trooper is still MIA. I took it in for a front end check-up and it's getting upper and lower ball joints. I also told them to check out my parking brake, it's not been holding well at all, and I'm just running out of time to work on things myself. My wifes parents are coming in tonight, my parents were here last night (it was my birthday the 4th and it's Joey's on the 9th).

Come to find out I need a new drivers side caliper. It was completely stuck hence the parking brake not holding. They ordered parts and they are suppodedly going to be here in the morning. I'm supposed to call at 1 to see if it's ready to be picked up wed evening. It better be, I was planning on leaving around 9 or 10 Thursday morning.

I still have to pack the truck as well. I'll be up a while on Wednesday night.

Joe

Question far any and all that are heading back to points north of Virginia Beach... or somewhere close to..even richmond... within a few hours drive at least..

There is a set of 33x10.5 TSLs that Mia bought, from wareagle, that really have no reasonable way of getting up here, or even to VA(without help that is).. I know Robby wont have any room..

Anyway, he will bring them to Uwharrie, IF I could persuade someone that is coming close to me to bring them this way..

I will be leaving here on or about the 12th, trooper or not.. if I leave then, I will either have the 99 rodeo, or I will fly back, and then Have my rodeo..

If anyone has any room, it would be greatly appreciated..

Tad, if you have room, Raliegh is close enough, adn I could even pick up the airbox, though I doubt you will have room in the VX...

If not, I will have to find alternative means, and at approx 90-100 lbs a pop, it isnt gonna be cheap... BUT, if thats the way it is... so be it..

Again, if anyone can help, great.. if not..its cool..

Sorry for a somewhat off topic post..but, I have to at least try...

Thanx,
Chase
