no, but i have to say it would be pretty serious flooding to close an interstate.
But smiley just go ahead and disregard the previous post from me. The truck is due to be fixed by thursday. shucks...

Well, I got all of my lil things done to the truck that i need to do so I will be headed out tomorrow.

Smiley, Lisa won;t be down there till thrus night or friday morning. So it will just be me and Doug. And since his rodeo stays parked that leaves mine to test the waters. Depending on how things go we might get u some feed back but if things are as bad as they seem I might now take on anything but wolfs den without some back up.

If i don't get another chance to post up i will see u all donw there thurs (or fri or when ever u all get down there.)
Have a safe trip and come ready to wheel!!!!!!!!!

I searched for the closure on NCDOT page and found nothing. It was just a couple of weeks ago that the interstate basically collapsed from all the flooding from one of the tropical storms. I remember reading that a large section would be closed indefinetly, but maybe it's open now. If anyone is coming that way, you might want to check on it. See y'all on Friday.

We're planning on coming in Friday, but as of yesterday, there are no campsites left :amazed:

Is there anyone leaving Saturday that we might be able to move into their site?

I guess we'll just sleep in the truck Fri night.

We defintely want to participate in the steak-fest how are the finances being handled?

SMILEY: I still have that wooden table setup you guys used a couple of years ago (Christ, has it been that long ago ) IF you think it would be of benefit, I'll bring it, if not, it'll stay home - lemme know.

Cheers,

I-40 is reduced to one lane in each direction between Milemarker 1 and Milemarker 4, just east of the Tenneessee State Line, due to a slide caused by Hurricane Ivan. Repairs will not be complete until 2005. Traffic is heavy through this area on weekends. An alternate route may be found by selecting I-40 from the pull down menu below or by clicking here. NC DOT

They've got those message signs set up here in Asheville on both I40 and I26 trying to funnel traffic up I26 to Johnson City then onto I81. Those sign have been up a long time due to all the construction they were doing at MM 20. I noticed they'd changed them to MM 5 the other day.
