Myself and some locals will be doing a day run to Uwharrie on the 4th if anyone is interested in a little trailride. PM me or email me for the details

Joe

A little old lady once asked me why I have those big heavy bumpers on my truck, I responded "if I bump into something, I win!!" "BTW, I did bump into a Chev Minvan at about 30 MPH...it lost!"

I just had a chat with Miss Kathy, and I think you can put me down as a Definite Maybe.

Since the very beginning, IÆve been trying to get her to join me in Uwharrie, but (A) sheÆs not much of a fan of our beloved sport, and (B) an overnight trip has basically been out-of-the-question due to the fact that campfire smoke gives her migraine headachesà Naturally, the thought of spending 3 or 4 nights in a campground has never really appealed to her.

I may have convinced her to accompany me on this one, provided that itÆs a day trip. --- If she decides not to come, then you might not see me either. --- I gotta maintain that domestic tranquility, donÆt ya know!

My e-mail Detail Request is already in your mailbox.

Cheers!

Bad News:

I've been blindsided with a household repair project.

At the last minute (this morning, before I'd even finished my first cup of coffee), Kathy informed me of the scope of the task she wants to accomplish... and it's a whole lot more involved than sheÆd originally lead me to believe.

If she didn't want to go to Uwharrie, or (more to the point) didn't want ME to go, she could have just said so...

Looks like I'm not gonna make it. - Sorry.

Joe, I will get drunk and do a rain dance tonight for you. Hopefully it will pour and you can get some harder trails for you.

Actually hoping for no rain , taking the new Rodeo to URE. You have to get drunk and do a NO-RAIN dance .

We'll there were the 2 awesome Isuzu's (one was wearing the optional "H" logo) and we met up about 8:10 am at exit 95 on Hwy 1 and proceeded to Uwharrie. Surprizingly we arrived at exactly 10 am at the Eldorado Outpost. On our way to the trails I decided to stop by Arrowhead Campground to say hi to Jan the host. We invited her to come along and to be our guide. We ran the following trails;

Wolfs Den
Rocky Mount
Dutch John
Slab Pile

neither Isuzu had any problems on the trails, although we did get a few looks as we drove by in the newer Isuzu's. Most people who saw us were impressed with how well they go on the trails. We spent about an hour or so at Kodiak Rock watching others play on the rocks. Sasha (the guy who has the Rodeo with the optional "H" logo from Durham, NC) managed to get a ride in a really awesome Commanche up the rocks at Kodiak. He had "Perma Grin"

(kinda looked like the Joker on Batman) after his ride in the big truck.

Here are the links for the pics from Sasha along with the email

Sasha wrote "Here're the pics from the Uwharrie 4x4 trip. Some of them turned
out to be really cool! There were some trucks I've never seen in my life
in person, only on TV or Internet.
I went with a guy who also has a 2nd generation Isuzu Rodeo
(Honda Passport and Isuzu Rodeo are exactly the same vehicles) with a
similar lift and tires. He is a very experienced driver, though, so it
really helped me out to be following him on the trails. He took me on
trails I would never have thought my truck could go through. It was a
blast!"

No trail breakage to the pretty trucks, had a great time wheeling with Sasha, he did a great job picking good lines and had no problem on any of the trails. I want to extend my thanks to Jan for being our trail guide. Will post pics soon.

BTW, I happened to make off with Jan's keys to all the locked gates on the trails, anyone want to tryout some new trails

Sounds like I really missed out.

I'm pretty sure you guys had a whole lot more fun out there on the trails with Janet than I did cleaning out the basement mud room and trimming hedges with Miss Kathy!

#1: Is it my imagination, or is the front suspension on this rig a little stiff? û Or is it just the way its weight is shifted to the rear at the moment the photo was taken?

It just seems to me like that raised front tire should be sitting on terra firma.

#2: ThereÆs something else in that shot that caught my attention (right away)à

I may be spoken for, but hey, IÆve still got eyes.

Is Sasha planning to bring his 'H' model Isuzu to Uwharrie in October?

She had just popped up over the rock, the truck was on it's way down when the pic was taken, a little 2 wheel action. The truck actually had a very flexy suspension.

Actually we were taking a pic of the little honey up against the fence and the truck just happened to be in the pic with her

I think Sasha will be at Isuzuwarrie, he's hooked
