Well my school doesnt close out the semester till around the 8th or 9th or something like that, in May.

I dont know if I will plan on making a summer trip as every one allways has issues with the heat and the dust. I dont think I will be able to make it down there for fall until after graduate. Sooo I dont think Uwharrie will be seeing the likes of me for a while. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif" alt="" />

Ex-squeeze me? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Doug, according to the poll results so far, it looks like the two weekends in the latter half of May are still just as likely to be chosen as any other...

I figured weÆd let this little democratic process continue along until at least the end of the year, and maybe see where we were then. --- Hopefully we will have a firm date set by mid-Januaryà A lot could happen between now and then, so donÆt go throwing-in the towel just yet!

Cheers! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

I picked the first 3 weekends in april. Sorry uwharrie, but if all goes according to plan I'll be headed to Moab Zuzoo VIII in May, and zuzoo only happens once a year!

Other than the occasional open admission, like the one above, IÆve overheard some behind the scenes talk (murmurs and hushed tones mostly) among several other east coasters about going to Moab this springà

So, instead of avoiding it, how about we take a page from those 12-step programs, and JUST GET IT OUT IN THE OPEN?

Hi, my name is Jeff, and I would love to go to Moab this year!

There, I said it! --- And yes, I do feel better getting it off of my chest.

But now what? û I very seriously doubt that I could actually afford to make the tripà IÆm not even sure that my Rodeo is up to the task of the æcommuteÆ, let alone capable of enduring the riggers of the trails while I was thereà

But enough about *MY* fiscal and mechanical apprehensionsà

I just started a thread for all of the east coast Isuzu-folk that are planning to go, or who want to try and figure out how they might pull it off this yearà

LINK

Who knows? û Depending on how things go, maybe some of us can do BOTH Moab & Uwharrie!

Just `cause I went and used the 'M' word doesn't mean this thread is closed!

C'mon folks, let's talk 'Uwharrie' too! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

I'm hoping for a "non-hate" answer, but I can't find anyone/anywhere in VA to go 4wheeling with/at.

My question is, would a full sized chevy fit on the trails at Uwharrie?

Thanks for the help, guys... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

Well, first of all, WELCOME!
(How's that for a complete lack of hate? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> )

Where in Virginia are you? û We have a number of people scattered across the state, and IÆm sure they would all welcome another 4xFriend (no matter who manufactured their vehicle). --- IÆm just across the state line myself, in the southern-most part of West Virginia, about an hour due west of Blacksburg/Christiansburg.

As for the trails in Uwharrieà
It isnÆt the width of your Chevy that IÆd really worry aboutà Depending on how modified it is (or isnÆt), itÆs the wheelbase, tire size, and a lack of lift that might hold you up. --- Pick-ups û particularly the longer wheelbase variety (with little or no lift, and stock(ish)-sized tires) usually get hung-up pretty quicklyà But if yours has some altitude on it, you shouldnÆt have any problems.

The Uwharrie trial system is very well maintained, and plenty wide enough (in all but one spot that I can think of)à ItÆs really the erosion control berms that snag most of the larger/longer stock-height rigs. --- We usually run across at least one high-centered stock pick-up every time we go down there, but so far, a slight pull or quick winching has gotten them moving again.

YouÆre certainly welcome to come down and join us this spring if youÆd like!
--- I even have a spare æIsuzuÆ grill badge that you can use! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

^^^ IÆm just kidding û Even though itÆs primarily an Isuzu event, we welcome all makes and models, just so long as everyone behaves themselves. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

I'll behave myself, I promise... LOL <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

I have a 6" suspension lift on 35" tires, but going to do a 2" BL lift sometime really soon. Is that tall enough to get around? Just wondering.

Thanks for the non-hate greeting, GREATLY appreciated.. LOL I just understand a chevy truck trying to muscle in on an Isuzu event. I just didn't want to come off cross, know what I mean?

I live in Suffolk, VA, by the way...

And, again, thanks for the help... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Our "events" are by no means isuzu only, we basically just have a less common vehicle so we tend to stick together.

You'll be just fine in Uwharrie with 35's. Keep paying attention on this site and you'll find some people in VA and nearby.

Amen to that!

Even before the body lift, it sounds like your rig is more than enough... Now the only limiting factor would be the driver <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/pfft.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

I'm an old ex-VB skate rat myself... When I lived in the area, there was a place in Suffolk (or Chesapeake?) called Creeds. - It was basically nothing but a bunch of mud pits and such, but if that's the sort of thing you're into, you might want to ask around about it.

There are some pretty good muddy spots in Uwharrie, but it's all of those rocks and steep hill-climbs that I go there for. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Keep an eye on this thread... Who knows; maybe one day some of us might even agree on a date!
(Did I just say that out loud? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif" alt="" /> )
