wow, tellico is closer to me than freakin uwharrie! but the chances of me makin it through Tellico are one in ten jillion....

so anyway, to get this back on track....
i think it might help if all the people that are saying they will be there no matter what, to vote for one weekend or the other. Vote for the weekend that is THE BEST for you. That may swing it in favor of one or another weekend. and if it swings it another way than the way i want, so be-it, but at least we know what everyone really really wants.
(not to make anyone mad, but ya know, im gettin anxious, i need some 4lo in my veins!)
Just a suggestion,

Im thinking i might need to wait until summer of '05 to pick up those wheels+tires, (going to Batavia NY. Why? long buick involved story.) so thats ok.

Looks like im out. so whatever, its cool. Maybe, since ill be gettin my liscence soon, ill be able to just go up there in the troop for a day or so, and speed down here again. like i said whatever is cool.

see, this is what i don't understand, the instance fear when Tellico is brought up. Sure, on a whole, the place is harder than Uwharrie, but there is easily enough to entertain and challenge an IFS Isuzu for a weekend at Tellico. I've taken many stock and unlocked vehicles through a lot of trails there. And yes, there is much more stuff for those wanting to push the limits than Uwharrie has.

All i'm saying is don't rule out Tellico just becuase of its "supposed" reputation.

BTW Doug, you know i'm game for a little traveling and a Paragon run with you as long as i can plan far enough in advance.

Seriously, Tellico is not that bad. My first two trips were in vehicles that ran 31" AT tires. In 91, I had an '86 Trooper that did ok at tellico, other than I burned up clutch and messed up brakes. I went another time in '92 w/ a friend that had a YJ on 31" ATs. Ray Miles did many trails at tellico w/ a montero w/ 31" MTs and open diffs. Chuck Venable did tellico w/ a second gen trooper on 32" MTs and ARBs that would not engage. Paul w/ a VX did tellico w/ 32 BFG ATs. Anyway, its not that terrible. If you're on the east coast and you think that you're equipped to handle Moab, then you should try Tellico. Its quite an experience. PLus, you can buy a sticker at Crawford's that says "Tellico Tested"!

I dont fear the trails at Tellico. Now that I have my winch I dont fear many trails at all, I can winch through a hard part instead of tryng to destroy my truck with the stupid pedal.

The problem is the ride home if something happens. Monty spair parts arent the easiest to come by. And if I were to blow something thing up that was hard to find, I may end up living in TN until I found a replacment. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" />

I am down for some Tellico action. The only thing that would hold me back maybe would be not having rock sliders. Other than that, I am game. I ain't skeered! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/pfft.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> It would be really cool to be able to put a tellico tested sticker on the taco with the 30's. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shiner.gif" alt="" />

I am going to have the 30's on there till they are bald and to the belt because house improvements come before truck improvements. Well I might be able to squeeze in the rock sliders. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif" alt="" /> I am tired of following Robby and denting my rockers. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/pfft.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" />

But on the other note.....Pick a day already!!! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/zombie.gif" alt="" />

Oooooo...One more post and I am a certified wheeler....or is that a certified nut? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

Amen on tellico. twice a year in uwharrie is enough for a big group.

I say <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

I am hoping to post a write up on Callantee in the next
month.I think <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/pfft.gif" alt="" />...

But Tellico is and is not as bad as you think.
We've done parts of Tellico twice,it rocks <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

But, notice i said parts........there are a lot of good
trails for our rigs at Tellico.

There's also alot of places you need rappeling gear and boots instead of your Isuzu..........ok,ok, Rob,Joe and
Matt <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/nana.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/nana.gif" alt="" />........but Tellico would be a nice
change and challenge............just do not go on Memorial day <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cyclops.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

You'll get run over on that weekend.........ugh,you'r truck will get run over that is <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/notooth.gif" alt="" />

Let's just wheel.............. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/zombie.gif" alt="" />
