I dont really consider myself a wuss in the cold. But dang in January. I work outside all night in it. But man not in the water and mud. Oh well. If it is on a Sunday or Monday I should be able to go. As long as I dont break her between now and then or I am not in the middle of a repair. I am still trying to get my locker installed and never know when the chance might come up to get it done.

I'd love to make it out in January! I should be able to make it about any day, and think I can sucker a buddy into coming to.

It would be nice to hang out and meet everyone too. Hope you can make it strawmeyers.

I just might be able to make it on the 15th.

The Raider's got some new dents and squeeks from the last Badlands adventure, but as long as I stay away from the water I'll be alright.

INFO:

The Badlands
Attica, IN

It's a mile or so down Perry St. next to the Suzuki Motorcycle shop. The Suzuki shop is the last thing in town, so if you pass that you've gone too far. The local BP has the best air in town as far as I'm concerned. You can inflate a tire from 0-30psi in less than a minute! There is also a pressure washer located just outside the gate which you can blast the dirt off for a hunk of change. Dunno if it'll be open in Jan.

$15/vehicle
$5/passenger (excluding driver)
You must have an orange flag in place that extends at least 3' above your roofline. They are available at the counter for like $8 or $10. You can buy them with a fiberglass pole for more, or just the flag alone which you can tape to your CB antenna.
There is a soda machine at the main entrance if you get thirsty.

Advice (read only if you've never been there before):
As much as I'd like to go blasting through the dunes area, there is a 15mph speed limit inside the park. Best advice is to follow it because ATVs and motorcycles don't look where they're going. You don't want to be flossing a rider out of your grill no matter how stupid or uncourteous they are. However, being as it's January I doubt that you'll have much to fear from those dudes. It's also good practice to honk a couple times or before going over a blind hill or have someone standing at the top to keep gaurd and wave you up.
The truck only area is cool. From my experience, the "trails" are poorly marked, but the maps are getting better every year. Follow someone who knows where they're going... or not.
The dunes area gets hella bumpy in places. Make sure you have everything in your truck strapped down otherwise it may end up in your lap or worse. There are also parts of the dunes area where the sandy pea gravel becomes like quick sand. You'll be swamped in no time if you didn't air down.
