Mark number 39 with a yota symbol. We be camping mon!
[color:"white"][ Campground Map Updated ]ThatÆs got the meat & potatoes locked! - Any other site reservations are simply gravy.
Its cool that we're getting all these sites reserved early.
Amen to that!
You have no idea what a relief it is for me to know that #37 is already nice & securely flanked by friends that (
presumably) will not be complaining about the noise.
When I spoke to Janet, she strongly advised that we try to get our sites as early as possibleà It being one of the first weekends of the season; she is expecting the campground to be fully reserved several weeks or more in advance.
Out of the three hardest trails, daniel, rocky mount, and dutch john, which is the easiest?
I don't think Dutch John would count as one of the three hasdest trails
unless it's raining.Muh-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-!
If itÆs raining like it was that one time, youÆre probably not getting up both of the ascents of Dutch John without a winch (or a magic lamp! )
Or, which is the one smiley crunched his bumper on, and Pete broke his CV on? (thats one crazy bipass...)
That would be Daniel.
I took mine up Daniel (first time I ever went) with nothing but a economy lift and 285's. And to beat all I'd never seen it, and it was a night run. You shouldn't be afraid,
strong is the force with this young one.
æNow thatÆs funnyà I donÆt care who ya are!Æ
JoeÆs right û ItÆs only bad if you convince yourself of ità
Unless itÆs raining, a Trooper with 31-inch BFG KOs shouldnÆt have to be pulled more than a couple of times.
perfection would be a light sprinkle to take care of the dust and make the trails fun, but not enough to flood the ole tent
Spoken like someone who has experienced more than their fair share of Uwharrie Dust!
I enjoyed the trail we ran that night, you know the one Andre used as a big slide. I have fond memories of yanking a fellow first gen Trooper up a fairly steep section (in the Troopers defense there were A/T tires involved).
I also have fond memories of Robbie slipping and falling in the mud and then getting into Smileys truck. Me and Doug couldn't even help Robbie we were laughing so hard. Then to hop into Smileys truck like he was all clean took the cake.
Ahhà The memoriesà
I put a layer of plastic all over the back seat before I even let Robbie get inà However, minutes later, that didnÆt stop him from basting the entire rear passenger-side door panel with a thick coat of red clay fudge when he got out. --- Several days later, it took more than 3-hours of dry-scrubbing with a wire brush to get most of it offà And I say æmostÆ because, even to this day, some of that mud is still covalently bonded to my interior.
It'd have to rain quite a bit to get up into my big white tent.
If it rains
that much, somebody had better be mighty good at ark building!
Cheers!
