Roll Me Over
Only 37 days and counting. I just found out that I'm good to go on getting the time off from work. It's normally not a problem but I'm on call that week <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" />

Anyway I was told to make sure someone took my call for me.

Whoo hooo <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/nana.gif" alt="" />

What are we doing for food, and when? Friday night? Saturday night? Do we need to get a grill? Or are we going to all fend for ourselves this time around? I figured id just get the ball rolling, as this is usually a pretty big discussion piece this close to the event....

A number of requests have been made for more of my Chorizo and Basmati Rice. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

As for whenà

Friday night? Saturday night?

Wellà

(YÆall might be sorry he asked û `cause IÆm gonna answer in typical æSmileyÆ fashionà)

Because IÆm either headed into town for supplies, or back at camp cooking - somehow I always seem to miss out on the best trail-runsà not to mention all of those bullets that I sweat, worried that I might not cover the expenses. --- This is especially true of the Friday night feasts, where we usually have a much smaller group than we do on Saturdays.

Then thereÆs the other side of the coinà
For quite a while now weÆve been asking $10.00 per-person, per meal û and then doing our best to make it worth the asking price. --- However, last time around, due to a number of factors, things didnÆt work out quite as well as I would have likedà Instead of the usual æMeal fit for a KingÆ, it ended up being nothing but steak with a side-order of more steak (Major Ooooops!)

ThereÆs just no way to tell you how sorry I was about that one! [Linked Image]

In order to prevent such a terrible blunder from ever occurring again - while at the same time, in the hope of relieving Mr. SmileyÆs stress level a bit - IÆve decided to only prepare ONE meal per trip; and since there are always more people in attendance, it will be on Saturday nights from now on. --- Additionally, IÆm going to see what I can do to reduce the asking price down to $5.00 per-person (Although, sadly, this means we may never have steak again).

There are a number of dishes I can prepare that, with a little advance planning, I can probably pull off for $5.00 per-person (Buying the ingredients ahead of time - that might even include my Chorizo & Basmati Rice!) --- And by only having to concentrate on doing ONE meal, I should be able to manage it without any future absentee side-dish fiascos.

Do we need to get a grill?

Right now IÆm going to say NO. --- However, if you happen to have room for a couple of large pots and pans (ones that you donÆt care what happens to û just in case), they will surely be welcome.

Or are we going to all fend for ourselves this time around?

Other than Saturday nightÆs mealà Basically, YES.

Jordan, IÆm glad you spoke-upà IÆve been putting the subject off for far too long already.

Cheers! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

My wife had mentioned that we should bring our turkey fryer and fry up a turkey or a few chickens since there's a large crowd. Would y'all be interested in something like that?
