Toyfreak,

Welcome aboard!

I donÆt know where youÆll be driving-in from, or how long it will take you to get there, but it really doesnÆt matter what time you arriveà ThereÆs a good chance that someone will be hanging around the campground when you get there û and if not, you can try reaching us on CB Channel 4 or 33.

Each day, thereÆs usually a morning run (which sometimes doesnÆt get started until almost noon ) û An afternoon run û And at least one night run.

One way or another, weÆll make sure your Toyota sees some trail time!

As for campingà
If you want to reserve your own campsite for Saturday night, you can do so online at [color:"brown"] ReserveUSA.com
- Or you can call them at: 1-877-444-6777

[color:"yellow"]-OR-

If you prefer, there will be plenty of space in the woods behind all of our sites, so youÆre welcome to pitch a tent there. (Modest gratuities accepted! )

^^^ Just let me know what you decide.

Body Damage is Cool
turns out i was wrong! after a call today I found out my bro and his troop will not be making it. his wife is working doubles on the weekends now and they have no oneto watch their little one (7 month old future wheeler) if he is gone.

I'll probably get someone else to come, but that still leaves enough space for one or two more rigs at the site (if anyone is looking for a place to crash)

I was doing a Yahoo Photo Search on the word æUwharrieÆ and came across a few things worth sharingà

#1: RobGÆs very first trip to Uwharrie
ItÆs pretty hard to believe thatÆs the same vehicle!

#2: The Land Rover Uwharrie Safari `05
Hmmmà April 14-17... Now why is it those dates sound familiar?

#3: (From NickÆs website)

Un-retouched proof that Don has earned his Jeep Recovery Merit Badge!

#4: NissanOffroadÆs NOAS 2003 Uwharrie Photos

These are some of the better photos of the Daniel & Rocky Mountain Loop trails that IÆve seenà They should give newcomers a good idea of what the most extreme trails in Uwharrie look like (but donÆt worry, theyÆre not all like this).

However, I strongly disagree with the caption for photo #19, where it was said of the right-side optional æhard lineÆ on Daniel that ô35's might be enough to clear it, but even that's questionableöà

While admittedly, the conditions change from season to season / year to year û Over the years, IÆve watched a number of times as quite a few Isuzus, Mitsubishis, and Jeeps have made it through that section, with tires as small as 32s.

In fact, on a night run last October, I managed it myself for the very first time û and did so with so little effort that Joe Darlington looked up from spotting on the far left line and asked öHey, where did you come from? û I didnÆt even hear you spin a tire!ö (and thatÆs because I didnÆt! ) û then afterward, Janet complemented me by saying öYou made that look goodà and easy!ö

IÆm not trying to brag - All IÆm saying is that it isnÆt necessarily the size of the tires, the amount of lift, or how deep you choose to stab the skinny pedal that gets you throughà Oftentimes, choosing just the right line can accomplish the exact same end resultsà (although, having a locker helpsààà a lot!)

Man! Looking at those photos makes me upset that I wont get a chance to attend There is a chance I could take a night off, but then again, my Montero isnt ready for action. I'm working on too many things at once so its hard to take any time off for wheeling. But i hope you guys have tons of fun, makes me jealous but hopefully i'll be ready next time around!

I wonder how Uwharrie looks. I havent been there in over a year!

Happy wheelin,
Angelo
