Smiley, how many sites vs. people we have now (too lasy to do the math myself).

Yeah... me too!

Seriously though - Until we hear-back from Doug, I'm not really even sure what's what. --- Unless something changes, it's looking like we'll have somewhere between 14 and 20 people camping (depending), so I guess 4 or 5 campsites ought to do it. [* shrug *]

Cheers!

After swapping-out the Steering Column, and trying/checking who-knows-how-many other things, would you believe that it was the crappy wheel balancing from Sears that was causing all of the remaining handling and steering problems?

I took it to a local dealership yesterday and had a Hunter Road-Force Balance performed (where everyone was absolutely awesomeà and an added bonus: in addition to being extremely friendly and helpful, the service desk rep was mighty-darned easy on the eyes )

By comparison to the handling before, it drives like a freakinÆ dream now! --- Although, I still have to go to Sears today, to get them to replace the tire that they damaged when they originally mounted them (it has a big gouge in the bead area from their machine û ItÆs a wonder it has been holding air at all!)à And NO, it wasnÆt the folks at the dealership yesterday that did it, because I was right there watching (I even have photos!) û and no one else has ever even touched them.

Despite being past acceptable parameters, the tire was able to be balanced to zero (however, continued vibration is to be expected, and replacement is VERY strongly recommended).

Another thingà Unbeknownst to me, one of my tires (a different one) had over 12 ounces of weight, combined/inside & out, all concentrated in one areaà However, after using the Hunter machine, James (also amazingly awesome, but nowhere near as eye-catching ) spun the tire around on the rim and got the figure down to 4 ounces total.

Anyway û While I was talking with Joe last night, he seemed to think that Sears might give me a hard time, because in addition to replacing the tire, I intend to ask that they reimburse me for the Road-Force Balancingà It seems only fair to me, since they screwed it up so badly that I felt it was necessary to go somewhere elseà But Joe believes (perhaps rightly so) that Sears will claim that I should have brought it back to them to fix. --- IÆm looking at it quite a bit differently thoughà I mean, letÆs put it this way: If you went to a barber, and they absolutely butchered your hair, would you go back to that same person to have it re-cut, and risk having them do an even worse job of it the second time around?

WeÆll just have to wait and see how all of this pans-out.

As you can see, this is a very long story - plus there is at least one chapter still remaining to unfoldà

After all of the dust settles, IÆll get around to doing an actual write-upààààà eventually.

Six Isuzus, so far... still have three of them.
