ItÆs T-minus one week to lift-offà (ONE WEEK ??? )

Hold on a minute there bucko

By my calculation. I have 8.5 days left , and I need every damn one of them. As if I didn't have enough stuff to work on, by battery died this morning , and my refridgerator (sp?) started hemoraging water last night.

I've rebuilt my locker for the 5th time , and I'm trying to get Richmond gear to send me a new one (fingers crossed). My rock bars will be done, and I picked up my new red top this afternoon.

I'm still planning on making it. You just might hear my locker clicking before you see my truck

Even if I could get away to go, the Taco has problems. Got a rattling noise in the tranny. Not good. Hopefully I haven't torn anything up. Good news is a rebuild kit is only $182 and I can rebuild it myself. The bad news would be if it is torn up, then it will cost me $1005 for a rebuilt one shipped to my door. I am hoping that it is going to be ok. I am taking it easy on it back and forth to work.

But before I yank the tranny out and check it out, the timing chain needs to be done on my 88 4x4 Yota so I can drive it while I am pulling and rebuilding the transmission. If it isn't one thing, it's another. That is another $140.

Sheesh! Nothing but money. Oh yeah, did I mention that I found gears for my truck, another $160. Don't even want to think how much the install kits will be.........

As much as I want to, I don't know if I'm going to make this one. I need to do a bunch of small stuff to get the rodeo ready, and I really need a one-piece driveshaft that I can't really afford right at the moment.

Options for taking other rigs down there are looking not good also. Dan's jeep is now on 38.5 tsl/sxs, but its not exactly trail ready with the stock dana 30/35. Not real highway friendly with 3.07 diff gears either.

We almost got Bill's remanned engine in tonight, but it kept getting hung up on the input shaft, so we gave up for now. New engine wouldn't be broken in for the trip down there next week anyhow.

Hey Rubo, you got an extra seat in that Accord?

We are talking about making a run to Callalantee or Uwharrie in July or August when everyone's rig will be ready. Anybody else interested?

all the "still in" ppl are listed on the first page, its the shorter column, not the longer one. Another little update, we will have the rodeo done tomorrow, but neither that or the p'up will be attending since they didn't ask off of work enough in advance, but it'll still be me and the dodge dakota.......

PUt me in a 50/50 chance. I've got a ton of things to get done. Need to finish welding on sliders, bleed clutch hydraulics, and replace starter. Also, need to fix the sliding door on my wife's Odyssey. Wife wants me to finish welding up a wrought iron fence around our porch. I have to complete everything done this weekend .

You will have to count me out sorry. I still have the engine out of the truck and stripped down to the block, and it wont be done in time. Plus I am borrowing on the parents vehicles, so I cant go on other trips until the truck is fixed, it is my number one priority right now.

It will be

The turtle---W/Momma and Turtle Too riding shotgun.
"The Roadrunner"(Mychael)will be in the backseat.

My Rodeo will be there as a tow vehicle.

2nd shift will be there with me driving and
"Oscar" has fresh paint for me to scratch off .

I have invited a stock 94 Passport--he should be coming,he can't wait to see modified vehicles.

We may have a toy pickup with us-----newbies to wheelin

That about rounds us up.

I will be stopping by there this weekend,to "check in" also Team Turtle will have campsite 25. I think RobG and Jessica will have the best room for their winnebago in site 24,Everyone else can grab one of the other reserved ones as they show up.
