New England: Trek to the Trains!!! #1095830 05/24/05 04:13 PM

Alright guys so anyone wanting to go up into northern Maine for a real expedition post up. I need a few more trucks to make the trip with me. If you arent familiar with the Trek to the Trains, read about the ECR trip they made back in 99.

If someone with more with stock height but 32's can do it, then count me in, if not, then I might like to ride shotgun if I could.

I'm on the job. When? How long? How are the trails?

final date isnt set yet. i needto make sure I have enough back up on this trip because there is a chunk of this trip that there are no gas stations or civilization of any kind. By chunk, I mean about 200 miles. As for trails, its hard to tell till you go. I may try and make an earlier scouting run to check and see if someone with 32s could make it without any problems. Im pretty sure its mostly a bunc of old logging roads.

Sounds fun. I dont know if I can make it if its way up in northern Maine purely because of my budget.
one thing Ive learned is never underestimate a logging road. Winter can do a lot to the trails.
There is one around here that I've seen a stock chevy blazer attempt. He MIGHT have made it if it wasnt winter. 2 years later I doubt a truck on 35's could make it through some parts.

That is very cool, don't think i would personally try that in the winter like those guys (I'm too lazy )if I lived up that way I would definately sign on, make sure you take plenty of pics and post up after your trip

I'm absolutely too lazy to hike through snow. It's hard enough to get me to do it mid summer! Assuming dates are good for me, I would definetly go. My truck carries a lot of fuel and gear. Sounds like a blast.

haha also burns a lot of fuel Hummer, hope to see you on a future Rose trip, if I can ever manage to make one.

If things work out, I'd love to do this, but it all comes down to work, and play.
