On another note...
Is anybody bringing their dog? Im thinking of bringing my mutt,Zoe on her first trail run. She loves people/kids and will do just about anything for a bellyrub/ handshake. (she also loves to do the BANG!/play dead trick.)

1 month, 2 days and counting!!!

I will be bringing my 2 twin pups, bear and dixie. Bear is still workin on the bang trick..... got the basics down so far though..

I'm working on trying to get out of town early....Friday AM if possible.

Sparkem welcome, come and enjoy like it's been said
most of the trails can be done in 2wd w/a locker. There are fun parts and some down right nasty places if you feel like trying them.
Most of the trails are short........

Speaking of trails!!!!!!!!

Saturday morning we will line up at 9AM and be on the road by 9:30 AM......ugh Smiley that's in the morning

Pack your lunch,TP and drinks (N-A) and bring along your camera because we will stay on the Trails all DAY.

Most folks travel along way to wheel and sing
Kumbi Yah around the fire.So coming and going from camp........well it sucks.

So maybe we can head out in 1 or 2 etc. groups and do the trails and be back by 6pm or so.
That will give us time to eat dinner and chat......
Oh and we will judge the costume contest that happened all day Saturday.

Yes sir re' I said costume contest,we are here to have fun so.........be sporting your favorite costume when you show up for the Saturday morning trail run.

We are planning a raffle for Saturday night!!!!! It may not be the biggest most expensive prizes, but Waaaaa it's free.

If anyone has anything to give away to these fine folks
then PM me,Smiley and myself (and Team Turtle) will be doing this

Enough for now..............

Oh wait a second I was or am being rude
this is ok for everyone, right

I'm with ya Doug

BUT, we might need to take into consideration that peoples arrival times are going to vary, and even a few people will just come over for the afternoon. Last time we ended up missing a couple people completely because they arrived while we were out on the trail and they never found must of us. It might not be a bad idea to send a runner back to camp at lunch or something. I'm just thinking out loud here, but with the names on the list, we've got a pretty good size group going. We'll probably have a few different trail groups.
Which means, that if you miss the morning lineup, there should be other groups going out as well.

Just something to consider.

Personally, I would like nothing more than to spend the entire day on the trail

A strict departure schedule on Friday would probably work for the small group that's there Thursday night.

I'm starting to get antsy . I've got a lot left to get done on the truck. Thank goodness all the hard work is being taken care of by other people

Sounds good to me. I'd love to get more trail time in. Might consider a "slow" (social, lots of photo ops, etc) vs "moderate" (max trail time, only stop at backups and main obstacles) paced groups. The easy & hard groups don't mean a whole lot when we run the same trails.

Andre excellent idea,My thought's where there also but didn't type them,I guess

We can have groups divide up however, there might be a couple groups that want to come back and forth to camp,so
let them.
There might be a group that shows up later and wants to
head out the more folks on the trails.

Most people have been on the trails atleast once,so a group as small as two vehicles can head out.
As long as we:

1)Set where the groups will go,maybe a Trail Board or such at the main site???
That includes info such as departure time, which trails and which directions trails will be run in......etc.
That would help folks meet up and join in.
2)also if the smaller groups head out that info center will help us incase we/them need help or whatever.

Granted the hardest part will be keeping to the schedule, but we are learning
By posting the trail run on Saturday morning for 9am,I was just setting the ball in motion, that there will be one of the groups heading out at that time.
This was just a formality

Well I have a small white board (3' x 2') that could be used for such posting. I could make sure I remember it when I come.

That way we can leave it at the main site, posting where groups are, what channel we're running on the CB, what time we left. That type of stuff.

I have never really been on a trail ride where everyone camps out. Most of the time it is a one day thing for me, or there is a hotel near by and everyone puts in.

Is there a store near by or does everyone bring a couple of ice chests full of stuff. Does everyone eat on their own or huge cookouts, do I need to bring stuff for that? Any parts stores, I have some spares left, but you never know. I dont forsee any problems though. Are all the trails pretty close to camp. Is it safe to leave stuff at camp, a box of tools or parts, so you dont have all that sutff while wheeling? Allowed to run with no doors? Is it mostly rock trails? Im not exactly new to wheeling, just not much experience on rocks. I live in Louisiana. Sorry about all the questions, I want to be prepared.

No problem.

I don't know about a hotel. Everyone usually either reserves a camp site, or a parking place in someones site. Usually 4 vehicles max. Mine is filling up, but I'm sure there's room elsewhere.

The Eldorado Outpost is in or just outside the park. They have a Deli with hot food, ice, gas, camping supplies, ect.

There is usually a group meal on Saturday night. Someone steps up as chef, and everyone who wants to chips in. Usually up to $10/person depending on the meal. Site #37 is the community meeting area/ hangout/ workshop.

That's a start. Someone else can fill in the rest.

Gotta go
