Sorry you missed it Scooter , catch you next time.

I must say that Rubo's treatment of the $300 Passport was truly a testament to the durability of Isuzus. He wielded that truck with all the subtlety of a battering ram. It had something in excess of 200K on the odo, a 1-2" lift, and midway through the weekend, he borrowed Nazrat's 32" MT's to replace the stock size street tires.

One thing is for sure. If you ever tell Rubo he can't make a particular line, be prepared for him to prove you wrong, or smoke the tires trying

Rubo won the carnage award for re-contouring of the body work. And to top it off, he is currently in the process of driving it back to New Jersey

Nice pics Smiley . I'll work on getting the rest of mine up tonight.

Got home about 5:45pm on Sunday and all is well. Took our time getting home and stopped in Albermarle to eat lunch at the Sagebrush Steakhouse. Pretty good eats!
Had a great time eventhough we didn't make it until late Saturday. Didn't suffer any carnage, but I witnessed some from other people. It was good seeing everyone again and meeting new people. Thanks also for the free raffle - That rocked! I think that should happen again on future runs.
I am already looking forward to the next run.....

I also think that the big hill right before Kodiak Rock on RML should now be named "Dollar Bill Hill". You Saturday night run guys know what I mean.

Thanks Matt at Independant4x for the hat, shirts, stickers and all. We ended up giving out alot of free stuff
I hope everyone had a good time.

All in all it was a good weekend we had some carnage, alittle each run.

Aquick recap
others will chime in

3 tierods(all different vehicles LtcDon,Smiley and Mike)

1 t-case yoke and joint(joe D.)

misc rearend parts(not sure yet..mike)

a set of cv's(hatfield)

2 or 3 Birfields(mark and his friends besides that it was good times guys, come on back)

a dent on Jordans trooper(the rear driprail)

1 broken/cracked 2nd gen trooper rocker trim(sloppyjoe)

The passengerside door and rocker(Rubo's truck Bansil driving and Rubo spotting)

The entire driverside of rubo's Passport(from the turn signal-----thru the front fender(off w/fenderflares)into and around both doors----off w/rear flares and ending with the rear quarter-----on a good note no glass or lights were injured with this experiment but he did make it up the "squeeeeze" 3/4 further than he was dared
[Linked Image]
This pic doesn't do it any justice it is alot worse....or better........depending on how you look at it...all body panels are dented.

Exhaust system from engine back to new exhaust--includes the smashed, mangled, dented and torn flexjoint (The Rubo'con)

several skidplates on multiple trucks were tweeked

I think that rounds it out.

(edit on)
oh it doesn't either.....other carange may be a slightly deformed bead or hopefully just dirt in the beadseat.....sorry Tad .....ugh....but,
Rubo borrowed them ..I hope that tire is ok
(edit off)
Rubo also broke his fan pulley mount
[Linked Image]
He is saying weird words at this point

This is the part beside the replacement.........

We made several calls from the middle of god's country trying to find this part...noone had one do you believe that?? So.....

We stopped by a bodyshop that had a wrecked passport outside a few weeks ago.I asked about the passport and the guy told me his cousin had it hauled to his place and used the motor out of it....... but,
he said he had several old motors and was sure he had the part we needed about that time the guy drives by.....
we waved.
Now what???he said he's just going to the doctor and we'll call him later......a few hrs later and a couple drives to the shop(5 min.s from the house)

He said he'd call again,he did and he said come on up!
We tried to get directions but that was like turn beside the cow and go past the river ...etc... so he took us down there.
He stopped at this dirt road and said go up there to you see a trailer he'll be outside...ok..up the dirt road we went.
We met Charles,he was the typical grey hair'd/bearded mountain man..he said"you the ones calling about the engine parts?" "yes sir'" "well comehere" The first motor
didn't have the part he said "let's look in the passport.......it's full of parts" he dug around alittle and pulled out the part
Rubo asked him how much$$? "he kinda fiddle around and said if it'll help you get back to NY then how 'bout $5 ?
Rubo said are you sure.........anyways we sat and talked for 3/4hr and left after shaking hands......

Charles,I know you won't see this but,
thankyou for putting faith back into this country and it's people

Thankyou Andre and Rubo for the spare experimental parts

I reckon this is long enough....Rubo is on his way to Smileys so Smiley be prepared to unload the Rubo'con

Once again thanks to everyone

Also, thanks to SloppyJoe for the steaks, they were great with the bean soup on saturday night.

Looks fun!!! I really want to get back there. Last time we were there my trooper wasn't acking right. Plus I didn't get to drive I made a deal with my brother that if he drives me there, he'll get to wheel. (I didn't have my liesence at the time), all that crazy jumping stuff was him . Probably after I go to moab, I'll be back there to give it another shot, My troops so much better now!!!!

Glad you guys had a great time. I would have made it if Tera hadn't taken 10 days to ship the correct shift rail for the t-case. Hopefully I'll make the Spring trip.

What is that in the lower left corner. I know its not what I think it is, but it sure looks like the front corner of a Dodge Magnum. I know its not, it just looks like it. What is it?

Also, I want to add. Looks like you guys have a ton of fun. Sorry I couldnt make it either. Transmission problem Also....... You guys scare me I freak out when a branch scratches the side of my truck. You guys have rockers smashed in, body planels dented, tie rods galore breaking and bending and what scared me the most was the bearded woman But... I can honestly say I would have had fun joining you guys.

It's actually a '05 Tacoma. After the trail repairs on Rock Mountain Loop Saturday night, we were heading back to camp, when we passed a popular rock that had become the campsite for a group of young locals. Rather than cruise by, someone near thr front of the group asked if they minded if we played on their rock for a while Of course they said OK! After all, it was 1:30 in the morning and they were in a festive mood . Much to their amazement, Joe D proceeded to walk up the rock they had just been partying on. They were impressed. Even more so when Joe pointed out that he was in Two Wheel Drive They didn't beleive him at first, but when we pulled the front driveshaft out of the back seat, they went nuts

Everyone took a turn showing their stuff, and we left them to their celebration. Made for a fun last trail run.
