Smiley, fwiw, it was not 'damned obvious' to any of us Uwharrie veterans that the bypass was illegal. And as you said, nobody would have let Rubo do it if we had known.

Hmmm. No broken shards. Lockright teeth are all intact. The springs and pins appear to all be intact. Ring and pinion are in good shape. I went ahead and jacked it up. Spun the driverside tire, lockright ratcheted. Spun the passenger side, nothing. All signs point to a broken axleshaft.

Did manage to crack this carrier bearing, don't know if that has to do with the broken shaft, I would guess so.

Heres my mangled leaf springs. They were worse, they are flattened back out a bit now.
