Hey leland,
Usually, its a your on your own for breakfast and lunch. Dinner is usually prepared by one of the "Uwharrie Iron Chefs". Dinner is usually only served for one night, and it is a "eat by donation" event. Food runs the gammut from good ole Nafta Steaks to chilli, to bean soup with steaks, to basmati rice wraps. It can be anything, really.

As for breakfast, when my dad and i have come up in the past, we didnt worry about cooking, but we go up to the local Eldorado Outpost to get morning chow. You can also buy your trail pass there too. Try the Sausage there. Its really good stuff. Plan on getting back by 9:00 to ensure you get on the trail run you want.

Lunch: pack your own.

As for the trail runs, you need to have your truck at the bathhouse when everybody else does. This will let you be in on the planning process of getting in the right group. Everyone will work you into a group, and if you arent comfortable going out your first time, im sure that someone there will let you ride along shotgun.

HTH, i know i was a little nervous before my first trip there.
