There's also the trail difficulty of slab pile. i notice the carolina trailblazers rate it as hardest. but i disagree with their rating of slab pile.

Roger,

The TrailblazerÆs map can be a bit confusing sometimes, especially when it comes to the trail ratings. --- ThatÆs the main reason that I decided to create my own map last year.

On theirs, they used a color-coded A, B, or C rating system to indicate trail difficulty - with a Green æAÆ Box (easiest), a Yellow æBÆ Box (medium), and a Red æCÆ Box (hardest). --- But when drawing the map inself - since they didnÆt want any of the adjoining trails to be marked with the same color - they also used the exact same Green and Red to indicate the path of some of the trails. --- However, the choice of color had absolutely nothing to do with trail difficulty.

As you've already noticed on the TrailblazerÆs map, the line indicating Slab Pile is Red, but if you look more closely and follow your way along that line, youÆll see that the trailÆs difficulty is marked with a Yellow (medium) æBÆ Boxà but itÆs easy to see why a trail marked with a Red line would appear to have a Red æCÆ (hardest) difficulty rating.

So, in an attempt to build a better mouse trap (or at least one thatÆs a bit easier to use)à
I chose to use SIX different color-coded trail ratings. --- This allowed for a more broad appraisal of the trails, with each of them being drawn using a color that best represented its overall difficulty - while at the same time, as luck would have it, this also happened to prevent any two adjoining trails from sharing the same color.

And besides, Dicky Bell (or however you spell it <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/pfft.gif" alt="" /> ) is a wee-bit harder than Slab Pile, don't you think? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
