I respect your assessment of your vehicle, and what would be fun for it.

Based on response, perhaps we can put together an alternate trail...

I don't want to bully this thread around, but....

Have we considered any dates? The earlier I know the easier it is for me to attempt the trip.

I've been trying to make it out that way for years now, and now that I am at my furthest point away, it seems easiest for me to get there (if that makes any sense)

P.S. Weekdays are much much easier for me than weekends

I might be able to swing this since I have to give up our planned Rubicon Trip in two weeks due to the new job. I would bring the VX if Fordyce were not one of the trails. I really want to do Fordyce but the crossings concern me. If however everyone else wants to do it I will tow the YJ out. I will keep checking this thread for dates and such.

I'm quoting this to bring Sean the recognition he deserves... he nailed me pretty good, but the board software is set up to take me to the next most recent post, so I missed the edit.

Meh... the truck comments have 'been done'. I think I'll just post this picture instead. See, the fun here is to make sure the target has seen the decoy picture first, then replace it with the real one and see how long it takes them to notice.

I'm gonna leave this thread until early next week so that Sean can flagellate some more, but then I need to move it (and the CoZu thread) to the Trails forum.

I have been in such a hurry these past few weeks that I just didn't stop to think of the rules, and posted this up in the wrong place. I'll try to think better of it in the future, and my apologies to other events who have been treated disparately -- that wasn't my intent.

Mea culpa.

September 9th is looking good... more info soonish.

I'm sending this to the Trail forum, as committed.

Body Damage is Cool
I can join the Sep,9 outing for a mild trail. I can help in choosing a mild trail, if necessary.

So for a series of dumb questions, how many days on the trails?

Gotta figure out the trail schedule first...
* tough: Rubicon is best with three days and two nights
* tough: Barret is best with an afternoon in, and out the next morning
* tough: Fordyce works well as one day, but could be run overnight (and is flexible to shortcutting out)
* mild: Strawberry Trail is an afternoon jaunt
* mild: Blue Lakes Trail can be one day or sometime work well as overnight
* mild: Ramsey works well as a one-day trail
FWIW, the mild run could really be awesome if it started off US50 and connected Strawberry to Deer Lake and potentially to Ramsey. Rubicon and Barret are both off US50 and could connect quite nicely to the same campground at least once.
