I would like to go on the "LESS ABUSIVE" trails, but have not made any plans for camping or lodging. Probably looking at a day trip. Is there still a Non-Rubicon group meeting up? and if so, what day would that be and where???

Tractorking,

After going through all the post again, it sounds like everyone(rubicon and non-rubicon group) is suppose to meet up this Friday Sept. 8th? What day are you planning to leave? I have work Friday night and was hoping to get it off so I can make it out there, but I am not sure if that will be possible. I will find out later tonight.

Do you know how to get to where we are supoose to meet? I am not too familiar with the area. I only know the main freeways and have never been on a trail in the Sierras.

I dont know if Im able to go due to work, itll be 50/50.
Looks good but..... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/barf.gif" alt="" />

If I do go, Ill leave early Sat morning and see what I can see, I have some pretty detailed maps that show the spot where the Primary rendevous is and Ive also scoped out the other spots Randii refered to so if the forest trails are mellow we should be able to circle around and meet em along the route, however, Im not Familiar with the Rubicon trail so Im not sure how access to some of these spots from a easy/medium road. But I do have the Maps:

Buck Is. N38? 59.999' W120? 15.255'
Loon Lake N38? 59.93' W120? 18.74'
Rubicon Resivor N38? 59.26' W120? 13.48'

Hiway 50 East to riverton then turn left onto Icehouse Rd which ends at Loon Lake! Pretty easy and looks like a nice drive by itself.

Ill let ya'll know asap if i can make it. in the mean time, Arrange a rally point mid way where any Bay Area people can meet like say Benicia Bridge area. Then take 80East to Sac then 50e

Anyway, I hope we can all hook up.
