Uber Shelter Update:

So there I wasà for the second night in a row; sitting in the den, with a huge sheet of graph paper laid-out on my 2Æ x 3Æ lap-desk - gazing far off into space, deep in thought - doing my level-best to apply the formula for determining the length of the unknown side of a triangle û and then relating that kernel of information to assist in discovering the unknown length of an arc that is represented in two-dimensional form, with a known base-length and heightà

àwhen suddenly Miss Kathy says ôIÆve already lost you, havenÆt I?ö

ôHuh?ö (only half-listening)

ôYouÆre already there, arenÆt you?ö

ôWhere? û What are you talking about?ö (with countless hard-won calculations vaporizing into thin air).

ôUwharrieà YouÆre already in Uwharrie, arenÆt you?ö

ôUhhàö (trying hard not to loose any more of the elusive equations that were floating around in my head)

ôYou may be in the same room with me, but youÆre not really hereà youÆre THERE.ö

[* BUSTED *]

In all fairness, the design for new and improved Uber Shelter has indeed been consuming some of our æquality timeÆ latelyà (My Bad! ) àbut MAN-O-MAN, is it ever gonna be SWEET!

If what I have on paper right now will translate seamlessly into reality [* fingers way crossed *] - then its latest iteration will be modular, and completely freestanding û meaning that it can be set-up in one of several configurations, with different layouts/heights/widths/lengths (as needed, depending on available space) - without requiring any trees for structural supportà or even any exterior support ropes!

If this actually works, it will be such an improvement over all of the previous versions that we might have to come-up with a new name for ità

Personally, I was thinking maybe æThe LodgeÆ

And hey û if it doesnÆt work, most of the supportive components can be returned for a refund û and I can always just set it up like before.

Remind me not to stand under the new uber shelter...excuse me...lodge....

Oh, and smiley, if price allows it, waterproof canvas might be a more heavy duty form of cover. Certainly more-so than the blue and silver tarps that made the old uber shelter.
