Oh, and smiley, if price allows it, waterproof canvas might be a more heavy duty form of cover. Certainly more-so than the blue and silver tarps that made the old uber shelter.

Jordan - My main concern would be the added weight of the canvas (quite a bit of added weight! ) -- but as it just so happens, through his job, Rubo is looking into that very possibility right now -- We'll see how it goes

I'll bring my duct tape just in case

Andre - I don't know about duct tape, but we could sure use a bunch of 3' to 4' hook-end bungee cords

Another Shelter Update:

I went to Lowe's yesterday to do some materials testing - and it's a darn-good-thing too! --- I discovered that, when fitted-together, the pieces I'd planned on using as the support members couldn't span the distance required without bending WAY out of shape (as in: it looked a lot more like a giant wet spaghetti noodle ) -- Not good!

Sooooooooooooo, I had to come up with a 'Plan B'.

I found something else that *should* work just fine (and only costs about $0.30 more per piece), but I didn't have enough time yesterday to confirm this for sure - so, I'm heading back over there later today to fit a bunch of them together and see if they will do the trick or not.

I guess if this doesn't work, it looks like I'll be setting everything up the old way

Damn, I wish I could make it now, sounds like it is going to be a good turn out. With the work situation how it is though, it'll take a miracle for me to get any time off in the coming weeks.

Smiley,

Looks like I'll probably be able to make it for the weekend, Fri nite thru Sun. So you can put me down on the more than likely list. Thx Bro.

Shelter Update:

Rubo just found out how much it would cost to get the canvas... just the 30' x 50' piece, mind you...

I warned him that it wasn't gonna be cheap, but I really would've loved to have seen the look on his face when they told him 'That'll be about $750.00'
