Body Damage is Cool
Just got back from a trip down to Southern New Mexico and thought I'd share some of the photos I took down there wit yous guys.

I used a photography technique called HDR (High Dynamic Range), where you take a series of photos, onc properly exposed, one or more taken underexposed, and one or more overexposed. I then upload them and combine them using a program called Photomatix. It's a pretty neat technique.

Enjoy!

Oh, and while these are copyrighted, I got the express permission of myself to use them here.

The following four were taken at City of Rocks, in the Gila Wilderness of Southern New Mexico:

This one is one of many photos I took at White Sands:

All of these photos have little to no alterations to there except for a slight bump in contrast.

Equipment Used:
Canon EOS 350D (Digital Rebel XT)
UV Filter (Always on)
Polarizer
Manfrotto tripod with ball head

Software Used:
Photomatix Pro (HDR)
Adobe Photoshop CS2

I've got a ton more photos, I just haven't processed them, yet, so if y'all is interested, I can post more.
Also, you can check them out in higher resolution here.

Awesome photos Morgan! I imagine the weather was great down there. I was up in Abiquiu this weekend and it was really nice.

Hey Harry! Thanks! The weather was pretty fantastic. What was strange was on the same hot day we spent at White Sands, we went up to Cloudcroft, where it snowed.

How's it going? You got any new shots?

Very nice Morgan! I used to go out to Holloman AFB to do spook stuff out there while I was with the Test Wing at Eglin AFB, FL. Used to go all over down there. You need to head up to Ruidoso and Sierra Blanca too.

Did you take one of those flying saucer looking sleds with you? They are great fund riding down the dunes.

I am definitely enjoying my time in New Mexico. Next month I leave for South Dakota for six months. Here are a few photos I took at Tent Rocks last month. I've got some decent shots from the VLA and Gran Quivira recently too. Nothing that compares with what you posted though.

The Alibi is having a photo contest, you should enter some of your shots.
