Since my schedule wont allow me to wheel the dates of the Sierra challenge, I've decided to pre run for you Guys. The plan is to meet up at a yet to be determined spot near the trailhead to the Con Thursday evening (19th) and enter the Con Friday morning the 20th and wheel the rubicon through to Sunday the 22nd. So far It is Myself, Cap510, and Lone Ranger.

Carlos, Do you have a recommended meet up spot? This will be my first trip to the Con and I'm not all that familiar with the area. I can bring a few spare parts as well. I have an extra drivers side CV/axle assembly, 2 tie rods and a drive shaft U-joint.

Should be a fun time <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/evil.gif" alt="" /> I may have time to run a trail or two Monday and or tuesday if anyone wants to stick around after the con.

Guys,
what damage should i expect with mine (first time wheeling on the west coast)?
got 4" susp. lift, 1" BL, 31" A/T's & LSD in the rear (open front).

Or should i forget Rubicon untill i get bigger tires (money kinda low right now), some rocker protection & a locker in the rear?

TIA

Without rockers protection, I can tell you for sure that you will get them damage, worse if you have a 4door.

For a 4door vehicle I would recommend 33s at least!

31s would be rough, but possibly doable. 33s definately advisable. Without rock sliders though, dont plan on ever opening the doors again.

If you could do the sliders, give it a shot. If not, wait. An LSD will be alright, and your lift sounds good. Just too many boulders to avoid for the rockers.

1996 SR From the Area 51 Skunk Works. 37"BFG Tires, 5" lift, Rock Track 4:1 Case, Tom Woods Drive Shafts, Oasis Air, Front ARB, lifted gas tank, T-max winch and lots of stuff that cost too much.

Thought so.
Not going for 33"s. Gonna get 265/75/16 Trexus M/T's (when have the money). In the mean time will try & build some rocker protection & beefier skid plates. If willmanage in time will let you guys know (if not will wait for next time).

P.S. which tire would you recomend for the west coast.
I made my choice for Trexus based on my east coast experience. Maybe there's something better suited for here?
