Thought so.
Not going for 33"s. Gonna get 265/75/16 Trexus M/T's (when have the money). In the mean time will try & build some rocker protection & beefier skid plates. If will manage in time will let you guys know (if not will wait for next time).

P.S. which tire would you recommend for the west coast.
I made my choice for Trexus based on my east coast experience. Maybe there's something better suited for here?

265s are about a 32" tire, a little small in todays world. As far as tire? I really think it is hard to beat a 3 ply BFG M/T. The pinching boulders of the Sierras trash allot of tires, and the BFGs seem to hold up best. The bead lock also helps avoid broken beads, which are also VERY common.

1996 SR From the Area 51 Skunk Works. 37"BFG Tires, 5" lift, Rock Track 4:1 Case, Tom Woods Drive Shafts, Oasis Air, Front ARB, lifted gas tank, T-max winch and lots of stuff that cost too much.

I too like the BFG's, they got a bad reputation somewhere along the line, but I have yet to slice a sidewall, I know there are those who have, but I have had good luck with both the AT's and the MT's. A lot of people also run MTR's, good sidewalls for the Sierra granite, my buddies that run them swear by them and also haven't sliced up a sidewall. Another tire that really impressed me on a few trails are the Xterrain's, nice grip and flex, though they are pricey. The only downside to teh Xterrains is they are a soft tread compound, so you wouldn't get good highway mileage out of them if they are on a DD rig. I am not sure about the type of mileage you can get out of the MTR's, my buddies who run them only run them on their rigs to and from the trial, those that also use their rigs as a daily run an AT on the street. I have always gotten good mileage out of the BFG's, upwards of 70k on the AT's and about 50k out of the MT's before they are nolonger good as a trail tire.

Check the used tire sections here, on MArlin, and Pirtate, as well as craiglist for your area, there usually always someone looking to move their 33 or less tires, usually for about $50/tire.

Thanks guys.
I had a pretty good experiemce with BFG's , but hated them in snow or rain (absolutley no traction what so ever).
I know now i'm in a pretty dry place, but just in case i wanna go boarding in winter or there's a rain or something, don't wanna be with BFG's.

Like MT/R's, but disslike Goodyear in general (& they are expencive).

I was thinking to try Intercos Trexus because they were pretty impressive on my friends Rodeo in NC mud & wet rocks.

Also was considering Kumho Road Venture MT KL71 ,
They lookp retty good, but don't wanna pay shipping (trying to find something i can pick up localy).

Tell me what you think about those 2 tires.

Thanks

Cool. I made some progress too. Changed the Oil in the SR and welded some angle iron on my skidplates in an attempt to re-enforce them. Did the plate under the front diff and the transfer case plate. Doing the front plate tomorrow and just have to bolt them on after that.

Not intending to diss the Monty's but I look forward to seeing and possibly wheeling with more Toys!

Yesterday I installed a new CB! Tired of undependable communications. The Runner is 95% packed and ready to go. Just need to see if I can raise my exhaust as it's quite vulnerable now that the new bumper's on.
