I wouldn't mind camping back across the ford. Should be quiet way back in there. The area I'm scoping out is here...

This is in the corner of NC, SC and GA. The link shows a part of the Tamassee topo. Chances are this trail is long gone, but it may be worth exploring if I can find mention of it somewhere on the web. It's also visible on my 2000 Chattahoochee National Forest map. Google Earth lists the road name as 'Hicking Trl' and it runs (at least) between Horse Cove Rd. and NF-646/Burrells Ford Road. This isn't too far East of Sarah's Creek, so I will try to get up there early and recon the area.
