Curious, Sean, did this trip come to life or was it postponed because people bailed? If so, was there any sign of snow? Wasn't sure what elevation Slick Rock is at.

The trip was great! it ended up just being me and my buddy with his jeep.

We got there later afternoon thursday, setup camp, downed few beers and BBQ'ed up some beer can chicken! smile

Friday we just hung around camp site did some kayaking in utica reservoir , BBQ some more, drunk some more :P

There sure was good amount of other campers around the area, this camp site spot is about mile before south slick rock entrance. Saturday we got our rigs fixed up and head to trail head, notice that there were some others out on trail also, we headed up north towards apline lake on the trail.

Get this, 5 minuites onto trail right where there is this "play" area (after the bridge) I loose a friggin rear shock, I heard some knockin sounds , pulled over and sure enough the frame mount just "slipped" out some how? took good half hour repair and some extra hands, that would of sucked trying to wheel with out a shock to hold axle from falling out heh.

What cracks me up, is we were about 90% done with trail where u end up in some medow area near trails exit and my buddy with his jeep kept getting stuck in this fatty snow patch. about hour of trying pull him out and let him go on his own, we had "teather" out there with me draging him in reverse ...

I now feel sorry for guys in ther CJ's behind us, we really tore up that part trail with all the snow that was still there, i wasnt expecting that much snow heh.

So make it short hehe, we fliped it around and ran trail oppsite way, got stuck for a shorter time (my buddy needs get some real tires, not those crapy toyo's) we headed back camp, BBQ some beef stew and woke up sunday headed home.

I spent easly 150~175 in gas that weekend pulling a stupid trailer going wide open throttle all the time. I wont be up there FOR A WHILE <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Enjoy my photoss.....
