Organizing a presidents day run.. Any takers? Well, yeah. How about Baja? It's warm down there. Say maybe a week.

Might be able to make this happen. Looks like some contracts are getting renewed. Keep your toilet lids down, I'll be back, blasting your pipes soon enough! Bob

Since the Sierra's are pretty much closed for the season, I was looking at some of the trails in/around the SLO area which is smack dab 1/2 way between LA and the SF Bay Area. Here's a map of supposedly off road trails in that area. There seem to be quite a few but I'm not sure if they're literally fire roads or if they might be challenging. http://www.trails.com/activity.aspx...mp;zoom=9&m=terrain&a=ODThe Garcia Ridge Trail looks very fun but I've just started my research so if you have any insights to share on alternative area's we can wheel, let me know. UPDATEI wrote to one of the local clubs there asking what trails they recommend which are intermediate to difficult in rating. Here's their response... hi there. we have three trails that are considered moderate by the forest dept.
Las Chicas. it is a blue trail. Has some steep hiils but nothing to get hung up on. Anything with a lsd and 30's or 31's should make it.
Another one is Pine Mountain. It has some areas that are black diamond area's. I found my 96 jeep made it. It has 31's 3 inch lift and is open. Pine mountian does have the Stair Steps. most people wont do that part any more. it is so erroded away its very dangerous now.
Garcia Ridge was a blue trail. forrest dept upgraded to a black diamond. a fun trail.there are some parts which will require at least a limited slip. it it has a small stair step which is fun and a small rock area.
let us know when your coming down. we maybe able to set something up and wheel with you.
I did some additional research and everything I found concurs with his descriptions. One thing I'm finding out is much time they take to run. Hopefully there's enough for 1.5-2 days of wheeling. What do you all think?
