Body Damage is Cool
So I ordered the lash adjusters from EngineTech on the research that they would be the larger hole. For sure the 3mm hole is larger than OEM original.

Will compare when into teardown but the hole can't get much larger than the EngineTech ones I received.

FYI: EngineTech

Part is L-6000

Posting pics of OEM and new L-6000 lash adjusters. OEM on left, upgraded on right.

The L-6000 hole is slightly larger. I was able to get a 7/64" drill bit into the hole but not the OEM hole. I had to go down to a 3/32" drill bit for OEM hole. The upgraded adjuster also has a slight bevel lead into the hole.

You can also see the change in design. I mic'd both diameters and they are the same.

Lash adjusters installed and engine started - bad ticky tick at idle. There were no included instructions in the box so I just stood them hole side up for several hours in oil to get the air out.

After a vigorous drive at high RPMs OD off for about 4-5 miles the tappet noise is gone. Hopefully that solved it. Will report back if changes.

Engine Tech is not very responsive, at least to email and they are only the distributor from the manufacturer in Mexico. Can't comment yet on quality of manufacture but as I said on last post they mic'd the same as OEM stock but with slightly larger hole.

So far these new adjusters have not produced any tappet noise, better than the OEM as I usually got initial start noise - especially in drive. This is summer so temps are in oil flow favor. I will follow-up in winter to see if lower temp noise is present.
