Need a Spot
Hey folks... Long time no chat on here. I now have 91 montero that I picked up back in October. I've been driving it daily since then and I am now convinced that I am ready to invest some time and money into the truck.

It has 205K miles. I have ABSOLUTELY no repair history. I changed the oil several times now and have flushed the coolant system etc.. So with that said, I want to basically restore this truck and really use it.

I would love your alls advice on where to go next with it? It's squeaky underneath. All the rubber boots are shot, probably needs bushings. The other day it started to puff out blue smoke when it was hot out and I was at a stand still in traffic. Felt bad for those behind me, it stunk like oil. Im assuming that is valve seals?

I'd love to hear your advice.

Thanks

Blue smoke and being hot are a couple of issues to address.

Basically, you are faced with suspension and engine TLC points.

Begin with of list of things you think you need to address.

Then, address those points in a manner that reduces the time to complete. In other words, plan your maintenance to avoid disturbing previously fixed areas.

At some point, you may need to have an extended vehicle down time. Plan your mods/upgrades to account for downtime.
