That is so incorrect. I also have an 89 V6 5spd. According to the FSM, a sensor goes in there on vehicles that are equipped with the Automatic. I forgot what exactly it does.

Raises the engine speed when making turns I believe.


I got out of the FSM that is some type of temperature sensor that turns on the temp light. I tried following the wiring diagram for it, but it's a PITA to follow the FSM wiring diagram on my phone.
