Getting the Wheeling Fever
|
Hey, I was just driving my 89' Raider V6 and the clutch pedal just got stuck to the floorboard and no longer had any tension, couldn't change the gears. I turned the truck off, pulled it back out and restarted it and it seems fine. Any idea of what this could be? I haven't any issues in quite a while but of course when I have a 4 hour drive coming up the issues start happening. definitely want to get this taken care of before hand

I just went out and looked at mine and it appears that it is a hydraulically actuated clutch. I'm wondering it maybe the pivot for your pedal might be rusted or galded at the shaft.

After (1989 to 2016), the most likely culprit will be your clutch hose swelling shut and not letting fluid pass.

Mine did that. but the pedal itself would come back up. I had a leaky slave cylinder. Can you pull the pedal up with your toe and pump it a few times to get pressure? I could pump mine and then it'd work for a bit. Drove 1.5 hours home like that. Almost ran into the jeep in front of me on the trail too. I replaced the cylinders and the hose.
