Yeah, I know. Materials Science is a convoluted field, what with modulus of elasticity, fatigue cycles, etc, etc. I just do not like the twisting force that the stock arms impart to the axle tubes when articulating (imagine the angles with one arm up and one down), which is why they break. The patch merely transfers all of the force into the axle assembly, taking away the "safety valve". Of course this is all said after I stated that I didn't want to second guess the engineers, lol! Thus the reason for a 4-link, lets it float and keeps the diff nose where it ought to be.
