Volunteers needed for Deer Valley work projects

By Jack Chapman, Motherlode Rockcrawlers
The Eldorado National Forest Service and Motherlode Rockcrawlers (MLRC) are at it again. The Forest Service has another section of the Deer Valley Trail set for repairs and MLRC is helping to get this effort going, like last year.
We are asking for volunteers to come help haul and place rocks, move logs and re-route part of the trail at one of the creek crossings.
This will be taking place the three weekends after Labor Day weekend in September. September 9th & 10th, 16th & 17th and 23rd & 24th. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
MLRC will have their base camp set up at Hope Valley off of Scott Lake road and Highway 88. But there are plenty of areas to camp along Blue Lakes road from Highway 88 to Lower Blue Lake.
