I have been able to find lots of great info on old threads but have not been able to figure out the ECU. My question is : Since the 4m40 has a mechanical fuel pump, does this motor need an ECU, and if it does, what functions doe the ECU perform? I am also wondering about the air intake. I have seen swaps with this engine using the existing air intake from the 3.0, but is it recommended to switch to the diesel intake ? Thanks in advance for any advice.
