Need a Spot
Hello, everyone.

Does any one have experience replacing the body mounts on a Montero Gen1? I know many have installed lift kits, but that would involve disconnecting many things from the vehicle. I am wondering if replacing the body mounts would also involve disconnecting the fuel tank, radiator hoses, etc or if it just a matter of unbolting the body mounts, lift the body a little bit and replace the body mounts.

Thanks in advance.

You should be able to wiggle the OE mounts out, so long as the metal sleeve within cooperates.

I'm pretty sure you could jack up each side of the body just enough to make it easier without disconnecting anything. Follow the method in the body-lift how-to: remove all the nuts, jack up one side with a 4x4 post along the rocker panel pinch seem and swap out al the mounts on that side. then switch to the other side. In your case only jack as necessary. I'm guessing no more than a half an inch.
