Howdy Chad,

I've rebuilt one from a 91. The main problem it had was the impeller wasn't spinning but I could hear the relay engage. You could try, lubing the impeller from the outside. The risk is there's a rubber gasket that you don't want to damage. Taking it apart does allow you full access to that. But be warned! There are some small parts in there that are NOT FUN to reassemble. In order to completely fix it up, you may need to take the pole magnets (stators?) out. They are itty bitty tiny spring loaded demons who laugh and mock you and then unleash hate, cussing and alcoholism.

So, overall, it's great fun.

I tried to rebuild one from a 87. It spun like a dream but there was so much corrosion, I couldn't save the 'lectrics. But since I knew I had another, I put it in a bag and may try again when the-one-that-works-but-I-dont-use-because-I-dont-remember-its-there craps out. I think it's still apart. If so, I can post some pics before you get in there.

Lemme know.

David
