Getting the Wheeling Fever
Wondering what kind of mileage you're getting from your Weber-equipped 2.6l Monteros. I'm running 30x9.5x15 Dynapro ATm tires; I rarely see freeways, so all of my driving is on winding, hilly country roads and in small towns/cities. Right now I'm getting 21mpg, but don't have a yardstick against which to judge.

How are the rest of you doing?

Need a Spot
I just bought an '88 SWB with a 2.6 and it came with an EMPI 32/36 (Chinese copy of a Weber). At my last fill-up I was just under 12 mpg, so I'd say you're doing great.

Would like to hear a little more about your set-up. I just did all new exhaust with a header and all new cooling system. I've been tinkering with the carb, but if I can't get the MPG a little better I will probably dump the copy and buy a real Weber.

My 87 Raider with Mikuni rarely saw the high side of 18 mpg. My 88 turbo Max with FI never saw better than 16 mpg....pssshh had something to do with that.

I'd say at 21, something is right as rain.

The only way you are going to get really know if you get it proper is to install an air fuel ratio monitor..
