There is a temp sensor that supplies coolant temp to the ECU. If it supplies the wrong temp to the ECU, the ECU may enrich the mixture too much. This may look like a "choke" problem. I don't recall if it can be tested in place with a multimeter.

There is also a heater hose that runs to/from the throttle body. If I remember, this prevented icing in certain conditions. It might be something to look at.

Also search for "wax pellet", it may be bad. I don't recall the symptoms when it fails.
