Wish I could just swap in a Chevy 4.3l v6... 500 cfm 4 bbl carb and HEI distributor. Unless it has to be a 60* v6..

Not even tested fuel yet as first was spark, not getting any so I'll move to fuel only if I have spark but still no start.
Cranks over just fine.
Power at the Ign main fuse, power at the coil.
For now it seems no signals to the coil. Making an led tester now to see it it flashes when cranking over tomorrow as what instructions ive found so far online.

Would the ignition switch have anything to do with any of this ?
Someone told me it could !

Everything on the truck works that I know of, power at the ign fuse at the battery, power to the coil, working on testing if its getting signal or not and at what point are we not.

My best assumption is the ignitor or distributor.

Not tested yet but I wouldn't think the distributor/cam gear broke and just not turning the distributor.
Old Ford LTD with a 400 did that to me once. Plastic gear.

Found my problem. ECU.... after reading about the fish smell when cranking I was like Bammm, it did.
Took ECU out, popped cover and looking around I found IC108, IC107 to be burnt.

Funny thing is it codes all is normal lll.

Something that can be fixed or just a replacement unit is needed. ?

You'd have to ask an ECU repair shop; early stage leaking capacitors that haven't ruined any traces are usually replaceable, some ICs are replaceable, but some ICs are discontinued and aren't available for purchase. If you buy another one, make sure to open it up and examine it thoroughly, these are 30 year old vehicles and ECUs from that era have capacitors that leak after 10 years (common across the board in Mitsus, Toyotas, Hondas, etc.)

This thread mentions IC 107-110 possibly burning due to failed IAC, you may want to check/disconnect yours before you put a working ECU in (so it doesn't burn up too): http://4x4wire.com/forums/ubbthread...ro-gen-1-ecu-needed-asap.html#Post768171

Now I'll do that, but now worry I'll never get my truck going again unless I get a totally new unit , if one could even still get one.
