Just posted another question but I also had a less dire but still important question about my Gen 1 -
So the two little hoses that run together from the little cooler in front of the main condenser on the passenger side to the block are leaking at the connectors just below the rubber shrouding. From looking at the partsouq diagrams, I believe these are the oil cooler hoses?
Can anyone confirm? Also what kind of connectors are these? I've found some "oil return hoses" that match this vehicle online but the ends of them don't look quite right - I'm not real familiar with how these copper lines all fit together though - in any case I need to get these fixed and I'm guessing simply buying the hoses won't fix it since it seems to be leaking at the connections.

The big issue though - which seems like poor design - is that these are RIGHT ABOVE the main ground wire that's bolted the block. My Ground wire has a bunch stripped off the end and it's just a big circle of wire that's held in by the nut against the block. The little bracket that it's attached to has another hole just above where the ground wire is connected with nothing connected to it - not sure if this was to provide an option for grounding or if something else is supposed to ground out there. When I first started changing out coolant hoses, I noticed a little piece of wire that looks a lot like a strip off of a grounding strap but it was not connected to anything on either side - just kind of hanging out down there and I still haven't found any broken wire that matches it that it could have belonged to.

Anyway - can I move that main ground to some other spot on the block (if i test the spot with a multi meter and it is a good candidate?) - has anyone else moved theirs for this reason? If so, where did you stick it?

Also - need to know if those hoses are for sure oil cooler hoses - the diagrams don't say which is which - but they allude that they are transmission cooling hoses, but they go from the block to that little cooler that sure looks like an oil cooler in front of the radiator, so not sure how transmission oil would come through that way to the cooler by way of the engine block? Thanks for any info you may have.
