In the process of replacing the three engine belts on my '90 3.0 L Monty, I cannot release the tension on the power steering pump belt. I loosened the two 14mm bolts on the tension bar on the front and the 14 mm bolts on the bracket on the back but the pump will not move to release the tension on the belt. Even took out the bolt on the bracket on the back and tried priying on the pump body and it will not move. Had to cut the belt in order to remove it to replace the main alternator belt behind the power steering belt.
Any suggestions as to what might be holding the pump? So far I've resisted the temptation to whack it with a heavy hammer......
