I'm using the mitsubishi manual that I got from the mitsubishilinks.com site ..but I think maybe there are some sections missing. I downloading each individual PDF file - -
Anyway - I decided to stop tinkering for a while until after my wedding and honeymoon so that I can actually have a wife who's excited to be married to me. haha (which is coming up the end of July). It's funny she even asked me a couple of weeks ago why I haven't been working on the car lately and I told her I'll spend plenty of time at it once we get back - but trying to help plan all our stuff and she actually sounds a bit excited to see the thing get finished - she actually likes riding in it more than her 2022 mazda.
All that said - I replaced the Ignition Coil, the Throttle Sensor, the water temp sensor, ran a tank of high octane fuel with heat through it and then the CEL went away and the idle issues stopped. I've put about 200 miles on it since then just to be sure and now I'm positive the fuel injectors must have been gummed up, there was a really bad clicking that I thought could be valve lash but it got much better once the CEL/idle issues stopped - i still hear it but it's no where near as pronounced as it was. So basically it's gonna be a grocery getter until after the honeymoon and then I'll resume the resto on her. I've got a new sunroof glass with motor and liner, all the body pieces to replace the rust on the shell. The front body mounts are pretty rusted out though and still not sure how I'll tackle that, but I'll figure it out. I did get a period correct mitsu radio installed with an aux input so I've got tunes now.
I spent three days trying to get the stupid front diff oil changed because the bolts were near seized on but that also made a big difference in how it felt on the road. basically this car sat nearly undriven for 20 years but outside of replacing all the things that degrade from sitting, she feels like she wants to go. (at least I'll keep telling myself that. ha)
