Randy/Kammy,

You have mine & Deb's deepest sympathies on Gozar. We're both saddened terribly by his turn for the worse. Bogey too is gonna miss his giant friend. Goze has been a great companion and we're praying things will get better, and if not he'll be sorely missed. It's not gonna be the same without having him to trip over walking through camp.

Sorry Randy and Kammy about Gozar. The squirrels in heaven will watch over him. I keep this posted at work to look at when I'm having a crummy day.

Subject: Then you're almost....

If you can
If you can start the day without caffeine,
If you can get going without pep pills,
If you can always be cheerful, ignoring aches and pains,
If you can resist complaining and boring people with your troubles,
If you can eat the same food everyday and be grateful for it,
If you can understand when your loved ones are too busy
to give you any time,
If you can overlook it when those you love take it out on you when
it's no fault of yours, if something goes wrong,
If you can take criticism and blame without resentment,
If you can ignore a friend's limited education and never correct him,
If you can resist treating a rich friend better than a poor friend,
If you can face the world without lies and deceit,
If you can conquer tension without medical help,
If you can relax without liquor,
If you can sleep without the aid of drugs,
If you can say honestly that deep in your heart you have no prejudice
against creed, color, religion or politics,

Then, my friend, you are almost as good as your dog....

Roll Me Over
I just read this, and join with everybody in sympathy for Randii, Kammy and of course Gozar. I went through the same thing almost exactly a year ago with my companion of over 16 years...there is nothing so gut wrenching as watching your faithful companion go to sleep for the last time, hoping you are making the right decision...and hating that you have to make that decision, but knowing in your heart that your buddy is in pain, and his quality of life is gone.

I've got tears in my eyes thinking about it...all I can say is take solace in the knowledge that all of your lives were the richer because of your mutual love and companionship...best wishes to all of you in this difficult time.

Roll Me Over
this is one piece of news i just really hate to hear. My thoughts are definitely with you and kammy. Gozar was one of the coolest dogs ever, heck even my mom loved him, and she isn't exactly fond of animals. I dread the day that i'm in your position right now. Make sure to give him some extra lovin and spoiling from me and Jeane.

Randy and Kammy,
I sit here sobbing (I'm female and can admit to it). Andy and I came home from ZuZoo V telling our kids about Gozar. Our son Marshall couldn't wait to actually meet him at ZuZoo VI. He thought I was fibbing about his size. He came home telling his sister this year that he met a bear. I was so moved by the gentleness of Gozar and his great nature I too looked forward to seeing him again. I was raised having dogs, and cats and we always treated them as members of the family. I know the pain you are going through and know it compares to pulling the plug on a family member. Gozar touched the hearts of so many people... young, and old. He will be missed by many. Although his time is short, he will stay in our memories forever. Over my tears I have to say thank you for sharing him with us. I enjoyed his company too. My heart felt prayers are with you in this tough time in your lives.

Wow - really sorry to hear that yaÆll. Having lost my daughterÆs Chihuahua a few months before Moab and crying for days, I can understand the pain. I hope something changes for the better as that is the coolest dog IÆve ever met and is certainly a big part of Moab. Best wishes.

Randii ...

What horrible news. Moabzu just won't be the same without bear-like Gozar overviewing everything.

I really feel for you and Kammy. A faithful dog companion is truly part of the family. In this case, also a part of your extended Isuzu family.

We will miss him.

Body Damage is Cool
I'm not sure "ultra-calm" accurately describes Gozar

This thread just knocked the wind out of me My favorite saying is I like most dogs better than most people I met. I was extremely fortunate to have met Randii, Kammy and Gozar at Zoo IV and looked forward to the day I would meet them again. I had no idea Gozar was getting up there in years...it truly saddens me

Good luck guys
