Goodbye From Your Pet (Author Unknown)
If it should be that I grow weak, and pain should keep me from my sleep; Then you must do what must be done, for this last battle can't be won.
You will be sad, I understand; but don't let grief then stay your hand. For this day more than all the rest, your love for me must stand the test.
We've had so many happy years; what is to come can hold no fears. You don't want me to suffer so... the time has come, please let me go. Take me where my needs they'll tend, but please stay with me 'til the end. To hold me close and speak to me, until my eyes no longer see.
I know in time you will agree, it was a kindness done for me. Although my tail its last has waved, from pain and suffering I am saved.
Please do not grieve that it was you who had this painful thing to do. We've been so close, we two, these years; don't let your heart hold any tears.

Randy and Kammy, I am sorry to hear of Gozar's going. He is an admirable being. Our companions depend on us for so much, including that most difficult decision. We outlive them, sadly. I won't forget him. Craig

Randii & Kammy-My heart goes out to you both. After loosing my last pet, I haven't been able to go and get a new one.
You hit the nail on the head, when you described Gozar as being ultra calm. Kinda funny how, even with all the moab zu zoo comotion going on. You make a bunch of noise, and he just lifts his head and gazes at us. Then he promptly returns to his "recharging" position. Almost like he's thinking, "Silly obsessed Isuzu Wheelers."
Hang in there, my thoughts and prayers are with ya.

Gozar is a good wheeling buddy. Have fun with him till the end. I'm sitting in my office and my eyes are welling up. He's had a long life for a Newfy (sp?).

Steve, you said it. The papers on my desk are soggy with my tears. Kammy told me it was coming but I didn't really believe it . Gozar is so cool, he rode with me on Hell's Revenge and never complained . I'm going to miss him, it just won't be the same without him lying on the ground for me to trip over him (which I did several times one night).

My greatest sympathies Randii Always having dogs as a kid, I know how they can become true members of the family. It shows a lot of love in the fact you are looking out for his comfort more than your own emotions.

Randii & Kammy, I cannot tell you how much my heart aches for you right now. The week before Christmas I had to make that same awful decission about my most beloved Sherman. He was mearly 7 yo, and even with all we tried, his kidneys gave out. He was the coolest cat - even played fetch and came when I called him.
Gozar is a most memorable creature. I remember first meeting him at Moab Zu Zoo IV and being awed by his sheer size and sweet temperment - he was the first pure Newfie I'd ever met.
If I can give any advice it's this: Hold him until the end and then some. It was the hardest thing I've ever done, but I couldn't not do it after all we'd been through. I don't regret a moment of it.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all- Tam

Man, Randii, Really sorry to hear about Gozar - I never met your "furry" child, but as someone who has 3 canine companions I understand how they become just as important as any other member of the family. I'll tell ya one thing tho, I wish when my time was up I could just go to sleep and not wake up.
Hope everything goes okay, and when Gozar's time does come to an end, know that your dog was as happy as hell and you were a model pet companion. He's had a very cool life, one that many pups (heck, even some people) would envy.
Sorry again and my heart goes out to you.
Ashley
