Hey Guys,

I'm on cloud nine right now!

I drove past a row of auto parts shops in downtown Manila on my way to a friend's place and it being a Sunday today, I was wondering why one store was open and had boxes full of parts all over its parking space.

I stopped and inquired if they were open and the greasy go-fer guy said that they were moving all their inventory to another store since the owner, an old Chinese man I'd done business with before, died.

I looked around and tucked under boxes of TLC and Nissan bumpers was a 1984-1986 split rear bumper for a Bighorn/Trooper complete with the unassembled bumper ends, plastic step guard and support brackets! I almost fainted!

I inquired about it and they said that they had no idea what car it's for since they deal mostly with Toyota and Nissan. (The split bumper was never sold in the Philippines) I asked how much they wanted for it. The guy checked and said the owner's wife wanted 7,500 pesos (about$140) for it. Being the cheapskate that I am, I kept on haggling till I got it down to 4,500 pesos (about $ 90)!

Now I have matching front and back bumpers with the rear center step!

I can finally get rid of that faux ARB, off-road wannabe fabricated bumper I'm using.

There was also a used *** -spec original Isuzu Mu winch with the platform, new original IKI 1st gen Troop tail light assemblies, an Isuzu Irmscher tire case, etc.

In my excitement I forgot to ask where they were moving all their stock. Oh well, the bumper is good enough.
