I have a 94 3.2 DOHC Trooper that does have HLAs.
I guess Tad and I have the only DOHC around these parts. Good thing I have a shop manual

[edit]The only instance I've aware of with a 3.2 DOHC is in the SE version of said Troopers [/edit]

Wow, 4 cams & 24 hydraulic lifters!! Talk about metal madness in them heads! I'd like to see a pic of that setup. Didn't know that Zu 3.2 existed. Thanks for the lesson guys . Isuzu never ceases to amaze me .

I know there is some conflicting information.
Tad & I spoke a little about it yesterday.
All I can offer is...

and a larger pic

I'm not sure where you're getting the 2 extra cams

What I meant by 4 cams is 2 per head for the V6, 4 total. Reason why I said this, is I once was chatting w/ a guy (supposed gear head) who was bragging about his "DOHC V6" as we were peering at his motor during a car show. He actually thought is was a DOHC because he had 2 cams in the engine!!! One per head! Didn't want to embarrass the guy by telling him he actually had a SOHC V6 so I walked away.

i guess i just assumed that since the tag under the hood said "3.2 liter" and the title said 1997 Rodeo S and when i changed the timing belt it had to go around two camshaft drive wheels, that it must be a 3.2l DOHC. I knew about the HLA's from reading the haynes book, although i will admit the haynes book was 180degrees wrong on my axle seal replacement (they showed the amigo setup as the rodeo). i'm still not sure where you get 4 cams from, tho'. there's only one camshaft on each head and then a bunch of rube goldberg setups to drive all the valves (and start ticking). i know some motors have twin cams on each head but not this one.
