What do y'all think, in a broad sense, of this engine? I'm looking at an older 2nd gen Trooper with high miles(over 100k). It sounds OK, but I don't know what to look or listen for.

BTW, I've done searches in both forums and only come up with the "ticking" reference that seems to start about 3,000 miles after an oil change. What's up with that? Sorry to sound stupid. All I've owned are 2.3's and 2.6's, both of which I think are bulletproof (with good maint.)
